How can I find quantitative research articles?

Answer

Two of our research databases allow you to easily find quantitative research as you search: PsychARTICLES and PsychINFO. For both, you will want to do an Advanced Search and go to Methodology and select Quantitative Research. When you add this limiter, your search will only yield quantitative research.

  • PsycARTICLES contains full-text, peer-reviewed scholarly and scientific articles in psychology. Coverage spans 1985 to present.
  • PsycINFO contains citations and summaries of scholarly journal articles, book chapters, books, and dissertations, all in psychology and related disciplines, from 1887 to the present. The majority of articles are peer-reviewed. We also have a PsychINFO Research Guide with more information about how to use PsychInfo to find information.

You can find quantitative research in other databases, however, you cannot limit it within your search. To find a quantitative study, possible keywords include the type of study, data analysis type, or terminology used to describe the results. Examples include: Chi square, Correlation, Data, Distribution, Experiment, Pretest, Posttest, Quantitative, Quantitative Study, Reliability, Statistical, T-test, Time series, Validity, Variable, Variance.
