I get a message about purchasing an article when I try to download something from a database. What do I need to do?

Answer

If you found the article through the library's databases:

  • You should not be requested to pay for material from the databases. If you encounter such a message please LibERM@tamuc.edu. Please include a screenshot showing the request for payment of the article, the database name, and the article citation in your email.

If you found the article through a web search (ex. Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic, RefSeek, etc.)

  • Check our databases for the article and you may have instant access to the resource you need.
  • If we don't own a copy, please request it through Interlibrary Loan and we will obtain a photocopy or a PDF electronic copy for you for free.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact a librarian for assistance.
